Brush and pencil were in the hands of Bob Partridge as much as a rifle or fishing rod when he was growing up in the Adirondack hamlet of Beaver River Station, New York. His father was the railroad agent at Beaver River and Bob himself worked as a brakeman in the Utica, New York yards for several years. An award winning artist, Bob's paintings have always reflected the unique beauty of the Adirondack Mountains as well as the railroad that ran through it. Bob is basically self-taught and keeps up to date on art trends through publications and museum visits. His railroad paintings have been exhibited throughout the central New York area, including the Syracuse and Utica chapters of the National Railway Historical Society's shows. In addition, his work has been published in the New York State Conservationist and on covers of Farmlife Magazine. He has exhibited at the State University of New York's Institute of Technology at Utica-Rome, the Arts Center of Old Forge, and the Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute of Art show in Utica, New York. His work was included in Adirondack Railroads: Our Past, Our Future, the 10th annual Adirondack Theme Exhibition at the Arts Center in Old Forge, New York. Bob is a member of the Arts Guild of Old Forge, and the National Railway Historical Society. He works out of his "West Branch Studio" in New Hartford, New York. |
